In many ways this program is still the same as the previous version, but it has some critical elements missing. It’s ability to reduce a single image is not as tight as its previous version. I’m not sure if I’m missing something or what, but it takes me longer to create an image reduction. For example, if I create an image with a large amount of media substance content, the reduction process takes longer than it did previously.

For the first time, Lightroom 5 has its own iPhoto integration. This means iPhoto gets all the details of your library and is able to both create new files and get information on files. The improved search capabilities of the previous version are now built-in to this integration and are enhanced further in Lightroom 5. For those who have taken the plunge and switched to Lightroom, moving between the two apps is now faster than ever. Your databases are brought over and you can seamlessly switch between both, even while using other Lightroom features. You can also create custom templates and import them into Lightroom 5 from iPhoto, if you didn’t previously have a copy of the template in Lightroom.
Lightroom and Photoshop are both photo-editing suites, but they do very different jobs. I find them both to be great tools if you aim to do a lot of in-depth compositing and cloning, complete with masks and textures. Lightroom is also ideal for photographers and illustrators who want to master Lightroom’s ease-of-use and powerful utilities, while simply providing the raw material for a quick turn around.
The liquify effect is offered in Photoshop CC as well for use with only photos along with three other enhancements alternatives. When the liquify tool is used, it is of course possible that the picture ends up being distorted.
