A Creative Individualist with a message to share
Life can be tricky, and often difficult. We all have dreams, whether we know what they are or haven’t a clue what they might be. Many of us have our dreams, or items that make up a “bucket list”, carefully cataloged and inventoried on a spreadsheet, in an app, or in a notebook that is always with us. But so many of us don’t think about what are goals and dreams are because doing so would lead to disappointment, as they do not seem surmountable. As someone who has been chasing something or another over the years, but who was very careful to not dream too big or to set the bar too high, I have realized that this is not the way to go. Dreams and goals are very important, but shouldn’t be a cause for stress either. If you want to get unstuck, you need to get organized. This site is not only to help with organizing dreams you may already be thinking about, but it also is for people who know that they are capable of much more in their daily lives, but who don’t even know where to begin to start looking for what that could be.
So what qualifies me to be able to help with this? I am a Licensed School Counselor who has served High School Students from all walks of life to identify and evaluate their interests, strengths and ideas as they apply to their career and college ambitions, family and social relationships and other academic and personal endeavors. I have also worked to serve homeless youth, adults in families, working in a Youth Shelter, as a Counselor for Students in Temporary Housing and as a Program Manager for a Supportive Housing Program. Other populations I’ve worked with and am specifically interested in helping are people struggling with substance abuse, mental health challenges and other issues that make life (and forget about following dreams!) really difficult a lot of the time. With my career interests, knowledge and personal experiences as my foundation, I help people follow a step-by-step sequence to identifying their goals and dreams, and then beginning on a path to start chipping away at them. Because no success can come without starting out from square one, even if you feel like square one is miles ahead. Everyone has potential and the ability to make positive changes. Let us be inspired!
