Why switches may not be present in later versions
A switch that first became available in one Ghost version might not be necessary one or more versions later because the functionality of some switches are sometimes incorporated into the Ghost program (Ghost.exe, Ghostpe.exe, or Ghostwks.exe).

the ghost product should offer not only the previously mentioned functionality, but users should benefit from some much needed optimisation. some of the things i can think of, could be some or all of: the compression of zip files is always a good thing, given that theyre often maligned and considered to be inefficient. it never hurts to have a better zip file, especially when extracting from a compressed zip
movies and photos could be a good area of optimisation. given that it is still a windows solution and it will be ported back to mac os x, it wouldnt be hard to implement a solution that would automatically create a mp4 for photos and m4v for videos. perhaps a drm solution to ensure that files are played on the correct player too.
games are an obvious place for optimisation. the amount of space a game can take up can be significant, and this is where digital rights management comes in. any media files that exist on the media can be flagged as restricted, meaning they dont get played, or the restricted flag can be removed to allow a user to play it. this is based on the drm sandbox solutions of adobe or microsoft. this would mean that instead of a game full of drm, the player would only have to start the game without drm as a prerequisite. this reduces a lot of the space taken up by the game itself. the same for movies, apps could make sure their contents don’t flag as restricted if you want to play them without the drm. this concept was used with the previous ghost.
the internet is a very big place, and if youre going to make your product internet based, a web browser is going to be a very good place to start. microsofts new edge browser uses something called the native client for this. the native client is a technology that allows for a program to run within the browser, without the browser having to recompile the program. however, native client is new technology, and it would need time for implementations and testing.
