I like when a program improves on an existing feature regardless of Photographers’ Standards. In addition to the ability to “etch”–print out on paper–all layers in a Photoshop file with the command, you can now create a pattern that will print out on a chosen area of an image (i.e., if the print size is three inches wide by eight inches tall, you could print the image to a three-by-eight-inch area). You can create as many different areas of printable imprints as you wish, and each will be adjustable (i.e., you can shrink the image wherever you’d like). You can create three different elements of a pattern (i.e., a three-color, a four-color, and a four-color translucent).
An array of new filters lets you give your pictures a more retro or old school look. The “ETCH” function lets you print any image that you have created into a printable material like paper, canvas, wood, wood, or metal. The filter will crop your image and add printable edges to it (i.e., if you create an image of a landscape, the filter would change the printable area of your image and produce a four-by-four-inch landscape canvas).
