it’s important to remember that the sony nw-hd1 is designed to play atrac3plus files, which is a proprietary digital audio format. sony uses the same name for its proprietary aac format, but the two are not the same. the atrac3plus files are bigger than the mp3s you’ll find on most portable music players, though. the nw-hd1 won’t play aac files, but it will play mp3s from your pc or other music players.
