a full complement of instruments is on hand. the standard instrument library includes the omnii vst plugin, omnisphere, omnisphere piano, omnisphere string, and omnisphere bass, as well as a ton of others. there are also over a hundred midi controller and synth options. from the list, you can audition these instruments for yourself by playing them or tweaking their settings. a midi file editor supports different file types and lets you edit the sysex data that’s embedded in files.

in any case, if you’re serious about using the program to gain access to your various midi devices, this is your program. it’s a well-rounded, multi-tracked, and multi-instrument instrument library that’s more than suitable for the task. in fact, midi quest was one of the only programs to pass our strict midi test.

as long as your synth is using its own midi interface (i.e. not an external midi interface), you can just add more instruments by adding more midi interfaces. you can also use one interface to control many devices at once. just set the synth to the midi mode and the ‘add instrument’ button will appear. add as many devices as you need, and you can move the channels around to your heart’s content. of course, you can just use the midi keyboard/controller to change the channels to whatever you want at any time, too.
