Microsoft Office 2011 is expected to be released in April 2011, and it’s shaping up to be the biggest release of Office in recent memory. Unlike the version that’s currently available on various Mac models, this version will be fully compatible with Windows 7, which means that it won’t require the installation of a separate Office for Mac.

I’d also like to note that though I am happy with how I can now work in Photoshop on the iPad Pro, it sure would have been nice to have an option to purchase the to-die-for Apple Pencil.

I originally purchased the Apple Pencil to use alongside Paper, and since then I’ve also picked up some other digital tools that support the Bluetooth connection. I love the experience everyone’s been having with the pen and paper. The way the Apple Pencil works is amazing, especially when you’re surrounded by people whodidn’t expect a digital sketch artist to suddenly appear in the coffee shop with a stylus. I really enjoy how you can quickly and easily sketch and find yourself with some pretty neat artwork on the screen. Guess you could say even digital artists have a return to pencil and paper. More fun too. Although maybe someday I’ll have to work in a coffee shop too in order to be that breezy and free, and also to get more exercise.

Obviously, I’m not going to put this into a final review. Words don’t do justice. I just wanted to share some experience and hopefully provide an initial look of how I am finding the iPad Pro to be a device I wish I could have purchased when I was a teenager.

The first tool we’d like to cover is the Convert To tool. This tool is probably one of the most used tools in Photoshop. We use this tool for when we need to convert something like a jpeg to a raw photograph. With this tool, we can quickly and easily go from a traditional photograph to one that is raw and can be worked on. For example, to convert a photo to a raw photograph, open up the Convert To tool, and select “Convert To” from the list on the left. Then you can select your source image or select ‘New’ from the Convert To menu. You’ll notice underneath the name of the image that you can choose a new name for your new image. This option is great for naming an image from a previous set of raw photographs. Once you’ve given your new image a name, you can choose a few different output settings for this document. You can choose from several different destinations including.fpx,.png, and.tif. By default, this tool is set to save as a jpeg. So if you want to save this photo as a raw file go to the bottom of the menu to “Save As Image Mode” and choose that option to save it as.raw. Lastly, we are able to use the rotation tool to achieve the correct orientation for the image. The rotation tool allows us to align your image for printing and a few other options. You can use this tool to rotate your image 90 degrees counter-clockwise. This will crop out the top and bottom of your image. Without the crop tool, your image will have it’s outer edges cropped but not the top or bottom of the image. This is because setting your image to full height and width will do crop your image in these areas. For example, if you have your image set to a height and width of 1,800 and 1,600 respectively when you go to check your image, it will only have the top and bottom cropped out. Also, if you move your image crop tool in a little further, it can crop out more of your image.
